Mary Y. (Ditata) Luminiello, 95, of Fairhaven died Thursday July 20, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William A. Luminiello.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Carmine and Michelina (Vanelli) Ditata, she lived in Fairhaven for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven.
Mrs. Luminiello was a member of the Shining Tides Quilters and the Sons of Italy, Lodge 1818.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Ste. Marie and her husband Joseph, and Nancy Beaumont and her husband Rick, all of Fairhaven; a brother, Gabriel Ditata of Marion; four grandchildren, Keri Monroe, Marc Ste. Marie, Erin Lopes, and Andrew Beaumont; nine great-grandchildren, Jason, Austin, Gabriel, Adin, Dante, Elaine, Emilia, Abigail, and Hannah; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Josephine Danielli, Angelina Ditata, Carmy Davis, Antoinette Beaumont, and Charles Ditata.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 28, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Her family will receive visitors at church beginning at 9:15 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
