Daniel A. Jones, age 65, of North Chelmsford formerly of Wilmington passed away peacefully July 20, 2017, following a short illness. Born in Stoneham he was the son of the late Allan and Mary (Williams) Jones.
Daniel was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a 1969 graduate of Wilmington High School. He was a proud Veteran and honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era from 1970 to 1976. Following his return from the service he worked for many years as a computer software programmer and later worked as a salesperson in the automotive industry. In his leisure time, Daniel enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time by the ocean, a good cigar and glass of wine.
Daniel is survived by his children, Christopher Jones and his wife Kristen of East Hampstead, NH, Nicole Gillespie and her husband Kevin of Tewksbury, and wife Donna Jones of Methuen. He was the grandfather of Aiden and Alexander Jones. Brother of Richard Jones and his wife Tina of Maine, Robert Jones and his wife Marcia of Wilmington, and Allan Jones and his wife Beth of Chelmsford. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington, Wednesday, July 26th, from 4 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with military honors and a prayer service starting at 7 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Daniel's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
