Obituary

Matthew “Matt” L. Bissanti, 80, of Franklin died suddenly July 20 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He was the husband of Miriam T. (Sims) Bissanti.
Born in Franklin, December 11,1936, the son of the late Vincent and Catherine (Guerra) Bissanti, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Matt was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School.
He had been a meat cutter for the Stop & Shop Company for 46 years before retiring.
Matt enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Matthew L. Bissanti, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Cedar Park, Texas.
He is also survived by, and was devoted to his granddaughters, Kali, Amelie and Bella Bissanti.
Mr. Bissanti is survived by in his siblings, Edward “Chiefy” Bissanti of Franklin, Barbara Graziani of Salem, N.H., Rose Ryan of Woonsocket and Vincentia Odoardi of Holden.
He was the brother of the late Andrew Bissanti, Joseph Bissanti, Brenda Conti, Walter, Walter V., Wallace, Donald, John and Anthony Bissanti.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday July 25 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10am
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Milford Regional Medical Center, 14 Prospect Street, Milford 01757.
