Obituary

McGovern, Charlotte Grace (Cha) Seufert. Born June 15, 1920 in Dedham Mass, to Helen and Alfon Seufert. Charlotte was a graduate of Dedham High School, class of 1938.

She is pre-deceased by her brother Alfred and her sisters, Helen, Alma, Anna, and Louise. Charlotte was married on June 25, 1944. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert E. McGovern, her children, Robert E McGovern and his wife Kim of Hatfield, MA, Susan McGovern and Noah Brookoff of Scituate, MA, Patricia McGovern of Harpswell, Maine and Kevin McGovern and his wife Barbara of Orrs Island Maine. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, Christina Jeffrey, Brittany McGovern, Colin and Taylor McGovern and Travis and Tiffany Oldefendt. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Gerald McGovern and many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was a mother to many, quick with a hug and always a shoulder to lean on. She loved to garden, a good game of Scrabble, a glass of wine and the birds at her window. She loved to dance and was a master of the high leg kick. She could whistle like no other, made world class baked beans and loved to keep her kids home from school and treat them to a grilled cheese and orange freeze at Howard Johnson’s. Grace was more than her middle name. If she could, she would thank the women of the Haitian and Dominican community who made life comfortable for her in her later years and the wonderful neighbors who were always there to lend a hand.
