Katherine B. (Mingola) Kearley, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was the wife of Christopher Kearley, and mother of Christopher R. Kearley. Born August 4, 1963 in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Lillian (Belmarce) Mingola and the late Bartholomeu Mingola, Sr. She was the daughter-in-law of Alede Kearley, of Wareham. She leaves behind two brothers, Bartholomew Mingola, Jr. of New Bedford and Kenneth Mingola (Tammy) of Westport. She is also survived by four sisters, Lynne Galuska (Raymond) of Acushnet, Wanda Bouchard (Dennis P.) of New Bedford, Maria Calcagni (Dean) of Ijamsville, Md., and Vivian Hawkins (David) of Dartmouth. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. In addition to her father, she was pre-deceased by her sister, Rochelle A. Mingola, and her nephew, Dennis G. Bouchard.
Kathy was a 1981 graduate of New Bedford High School, where she played varsity tennis and volleyball. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.A. in Nursing from UMass Dartmouth. Kathy was a registered nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for 16 years, most recently for the Harvard Catalyst Group. She was previously employed at Rhode Island Hospital and Tobey Hospital. She was a member of Christ Community Church in East Taunton.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, traveling and attending her son’s many activities.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 8:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by her Funeral Service at 10 AM at the Christ Community Church, 518 Middleboro Ave., East Taunton. Interment will follow in the Assonet Burying Ground. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 PM.
