BILLERICA - Mrs. Agnes Theresa “Liz” (Benoit) David, age 87, died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 18, at Lowell General Hospital, after a brief period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Maurice Henry David Sr., who died in 1971.
She was born in Tewksbury in September 1929, one of nine children of Arthur and Agnes (Hurley) Benoit, and raised in Tewksbury, where she graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School. She had lived in Billerica since 1956.
Liz devoted her life to her family. In addition to raising her family, her working career began at McGowan-Educator Biscuit company in Lowell, and ended at Compugraphic-Agfa in Wilmington.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed camping trips in Maine, and later in life, cruising the Caribbean and memorable trips to Hawaii with her immediate and extended families.
She leaves four children, Maurice H. David Jr., and his wife Linda (Tritt) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Debra A. Moore and her husband Steven Villineau of Tewksbury, Joan M. Coakley and her husband Richard of Auburn, NH, Maryellen Fonseca and her husband Manny of Billerica, with whom she resided; nine grandchildren, Deborah and husband Justin Pease of FL, Liza and husband Kenneth Robinson of TN, Amy and husband Robert Davis of Tewksbury, Rebecca and husband Dennis Stott of Ashby, Amanda Nicholson of Dracut, Melissa Coakley and husband William Murray of FL, Adam and wife Christine Coakley of Raymond, NH, Emily Fonseca and David Fonseca both of Billerica; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Turcotte of Tewksbury; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Benoit of Tewksbury, Joan Benoit of Derry, NH, and Ilse Benoit of TX; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her son-in-law, Lawrence F. Moore; and seven brothers, Arthur, John “Jinks,” James, Raymond, William, Thomas, and Robert Benoit.
Visiting hours Sunday, July 23, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her funeral will begin Monday, July 24, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.
