Estelle Nobles Cowan, 92, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, July 17, 2017, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dr. Danny V. Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Cowan was born October 23, 1924, in Wheeler County, Georgia, to the late James Ernest & Clara Grimes Nobles. She was a graduate of Wheeler County High School. Mrs. Cowan worked for many years as a hairdresser and also worked at Hybernia’s and the Spotted Pig. She was a Pink Lady at Dorminy Medical Center and was a greeter at Wal-Mart for 17 years. She was an avid gardener and shared hundreds of daylily bulbs with friends and family. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church and an associate member of Central United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Frankie & Sylvia Cowan of Adel and Ronnie & Sandy Cowan of Fitzgerald; grandchildren and their spouses: Jason & Stephanie Couch, Ryan Couch, Josh Cowan, Daniel & Melissa Cowan, Grant & Allisha Cowan, and Kalee Cowan; and her great-grandchildren: Owen, Mordecai, Britin, Keaton, Tristan, Matthew, Caden, and Brooklyn; a sister, Juanita Kilpatrick of Wheeler County; and four brothers: Pete & Eunice Nobles of Cochran, Carl Nobles of Byron, Willie & Shirley Nobles of Wheeler County, and Jimmy Nobles of Wheeler County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Eugene Cowan, Sr.
