Mary Louise (Cluett) Benoit, age 90, of Brockton, peacefully passed away July 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard A. Benoit. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Foley) Cluett. She was raised in North Quincy, and was a graduate of North Quincy High School, class of 1944. For many years Mary was employed as a bookkeeper by the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. She was a longtime communicant of Christ the King Parish where she was an active volunteer and member of the Ladies Sodality. She was also an avid cook, baker and gardener.
Mary is survived by two sons, Richard A. Benoit and his wife Christy of Gresham, OR and William J. Benoit and his girlfriend Katy Archibald of Brockton; four grandchildren Richard Fyfe-Benoit, and Jonas, William and Lauren Benoit, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister Helen Cluett of Weymouth, Loretta and the late Karl Koch of North Quincy and the late Patrick Cluett and his wife Rose of Kingston. She was a special friend to Norma and the late Francis Allen of North Abington.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
