Obituary

Alice Rose Coyle, age 93, of Natick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield, on Friday, July 14, 2017.

She was born in Barrington, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Owen & Annie (Convey) Coyle.

She lived in Auburndale and Natick. Alice was a graduate of the Newton High School, Class of 1941 and a graduate of the Nursing School at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Alice served as an Army Nurse as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II, and was stationed in the Philippines. Upon her return, she continued her nursing career with Dr. Elmer Campbell and then spent over 30 years working with Dr. Sandhya Shah as an OB/GYN nurse, working into her mid-80's.

Throughout her life, Alice devoted her life to the care of others as a daughter, as an aunt, as a sister and as a nurse creating a special bond with all those she touched and loved. She enjoyed traveling to places including Hawaii, Florida, Canada, Ireland and Michigan to visit friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family from special occasions to a simple cook-out in the backyard with a good hot dog.

Alice was predeceased by her beloved siblings: Eugene, Bernard, twin sister Winnie, and James Coyle. She is survived by her nephews and nieces: John Coyle, Linda Wright, Kathleen Coyle, Robert Gaudet, Colleen Cappellucci, Susan Seeley, Nancy Wyman, Michael Coyle and their families. She also leaves behind other family members including Colleen Durocher and John Durocher and her dear friend, Dr. Shah.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, NATICK COMMON, on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 8:30-9:45 AM, followed by her funeral Mass at Saint Patrick's Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00 AM.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Boulevard, Bourne, at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Alice's name to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of donor's choice.
