Obituary

Joseph L. Robinson of Kingston passed away on Saturday, July 15 after a brief stay in the hospital. He was 87. Joe was a Social Studies Teacher at Plymouth Carver High School, a Director of Adult Education there, a long time member of Mayflower Congregational Church in Kingston and prior to his retirement, he worked at the Post Office in Boston. Most proudly he was a husband and father. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Sylvia Robinson, and six of his seven children: Elizabeth Robinson, Alicia Stone and her husband Michael, Joan Cole, Jonathan Robinson, James Robinson and his wife Athanasia, and Margaret Worsham and her husband Les. His son Thomas Robinson, who spent sixteen years in the Navy, predeceased him in 2002. He also had thirteen grandchildren. He loved adventure and was famous in his family for organizing road trips, visiting family all over the country, traveling to Canada and across the country to California and Colorado more than once. He loved his family camp in Maine and was always ready to go “up to camp.” He was always available to help a family member or a friend. Despite suffering from progressive dementia, as a result of injuries sustained during his time in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he lived a life full of purpose, love of family and community. He was good humored, patient, and loving even in his illness, and he will be sadly missed and long remembered.
