Obituary

In Taunton July 12, 2017 John S. Biedak, beloved husband of 57 years, to Ann E. (O’Hearne) Biedak died at Morton Hospital in Taunton at the age of 91. Born in Taunton, John was the son of the late Frank and Antonia (Babiec) Biedak. He was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1944. John enlisted into the US Army in 1944 serving in the 95th infantry, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a retired Electrical Maintenance worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. With the combined efforts of his beloved Wife, John put his four adult Children through college, something, that will forever be part of his legacy. John was a proud member of The St Maximilian Kolbe Guild, Taunton VFW post 611, Polish American Civic Club, the St Joseph’s at Holy Rosary, Polish Picnic Organizing Committee, and was the recipient of the Marion Medal in 2007. John loved the outdoors and like his Dad before him, enjoyed gardening.  John camped, fished, hunted and will forever be remember for chasing the Geese out of the yard!  John spent countless hours supporting his grandchildrens’ interests, including, soccer, karate, cross country, basketball, gymnastics, theatre and swimming.   John, aka “Sam”, was the father of John Biedak and his wife Robin of Taunton, Frank Biedak of Taunton, Maryann Biedak of Taunton and James Biedak of Taunton. No Grandchildren were loved more by their Dziadziu than Katie, Nate, Rachel, Olivia Fonseca and Lauren. Brother, and life-long neighbor, of Mary Levesque of Taunton and the late Ted and Walter Biedak and Frances Nichols. Uncle of many treasured,  nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral home 70 Washington Street in Taunton Tuesday, July 18th at 10 am. A Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church in Taunton at 10 AM. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 pm. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Boston Chapter, 4899 Belford Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL, 32256.
