Following a life filled with love and unending generosity for family and friends, Sarah M. “Sally” (Muther) Brown, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017 due to complications related to cancer.
Sally was born in Newton, MA on May 9, 1950 and grew up in Wellesley, MA. She attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1972. While working for NCR in Boston, she met her husband of 43 years, Stephan Brown. Sally and Steve raised three children in Madison, CT. She loved working in the guidance department at Daniel Hand High School, while Steve founded a successful medical software company. In retirement, Sally and Steve settled in Harwichport, MA and Estero, FL.
Sally was a natural athlete and most recently enjoyed golf, tennis, and pickleball. She also loved cooking, gardening and spending time in the sun. Most important to her, however, was spending time with her six grandchildren, who adored their Nana. Sally never missed an opportunity to make friends and family feel loved. She will be missed by many.
Beloved wife of Stephan R. Brown. Loving daughter of Herbert C. Muther Jr. of Venice, FL and the late Barbara W. Muther. Devoted mother of Alison B. Premo of Needham, MA, Lindsay B. Perrin of Amherst, NH, and Christopher T. Brown of Portland, ME. Grandmother of Caroline S. Perrin, Lillian S. Premo, Edward H. Premo, Emma L. Perrin, Lucy J. Perrin, and Steven R. Premo. Sister of Stephen C. Muther of Solebury, PA, and Herbert C. Muther III of Naples, FL.
Memorial service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 79 Denton Rd., Wellesley, MA Saturday, July 22 at 4:00pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private.
