Obituary

James Bernard Kramer, 86, of Spencer, W.Va., died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at his home.
He was born August 14, 1930 at St. Louis, Mo., a son of the late Henry Christian and Lorraine Marie Smith Kramer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Kramer, March 18, 1983 and Arthur Kramer, September 30, 2016; and an infant great grandchild.
Mr. Kramer was a retired mathematics professor. He was a former technical editor for IBM and a former employee of Inforex, Boston, Mass. His hobbies included playing chess, reading, gardening and shoeing horses. He enjoyed ‘fixing up’ property; he remodeled and restored many of the houses he and his family lived in. Mr. Kramer was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Holy Redeemer Church and Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, of 63 years, Constance Jean Kennedy Kramer; children, Joan Kramer of St. Augustine, Fla., Loretta Kramer of Tangent, Ore., Edward Kramer of La Plata, Md., Jerome Kramer of Seattle, Wash., Mary Kronlage and her husband, James of South Mills, N.C., Gregory Kramer of New Albany, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Pragnya Gandhi of Silver Spring, Md.; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Gretchen Kramer of Galena, Ohio; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 14 at the Holy Redeemer Church, Spencer, with Father Elpidio Geneta, JCL as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, N.H.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, July 13, at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. WV. The family will receive friends at 12:30 PM, Monday, July 17, for a brief prayer service at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester, NH, followed by committal at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
