Obituary

CHICOPEE – Maurice O. “Moe” Archambault, 87, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, July 8, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home in Chicopee on May 11, 1930, a beloved son of the late Oliva and Marie E. “Rose” (Denoncourt) Archambault. At a young age, he moved with his family to the Brightwood section of Springfield. He graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas Grammar School and then from Cathedral High School in Springfield. He later came back to Chicopee where he lived for the remainder of his life. At the age of twelve, he began working with his late father, Oliva, who was the owner of Archambault & Son Floor Sanders. Moe eventually became the owner of the company and retired around 1994. During his leisure time, Moe enjoyed fishing, playing pool and cultivating his wonderful vegetable garden. He spent many hours working on his yard and was especially proud of his beautiful manicured lawn. He was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Cecile V. “Cis” (Hebert) Archambault. They were married on April 28, 1951 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 66 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving daughters, Dianne L. Laflamme and her life partner, Ed Nadeau, of Chicopee and Denise C. Hebert and her husband, David R. Hebert, of Belchertown; his four cherished grandchildren, Michelle L. Laflamme and her partner, Keith Bedard, Jeffrey D. Laflamme, Matthew D. Hebert and Craig M. Hebert and his wife, Diem; his two cherished great-granddaughters, Madison and Kylie Laflamme; his two dear brothers, Marcel E. Archambault of Belchertown and Roger F. Archambault of Springfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Archambault and Hebert families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear brother, Henry J. Archambault. His funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass.
