Worcester: Maria L. Olaechea Debernal, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 in Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her son and daughter-in-law Fernando and Ana Bernal of Worcester, 4 grandchildren, Alexander Bernal, Henry Bernal, Wendy Bernal and Krystle Bernal all of Worcester. She leaves 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Maria was born in Bogota, Colombia, daughter of the late Manuel and Lucila (Caro) Olaechea. She attended school in Colombia, was a devoted wife and mother and came to the United States, where she worked in several factories over the years. She attended St. Paul's Cathedral and was a devoted catholic with a strong faith . God has called upon her to continue her journey in his eternal presence. While her presence will be greatly missed on this earth, she leaves countless memories that will live on from generation to generation.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. during the calling time.
