of Townsend, beloved husband of Jo Ann Kurland died July 4th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Newburgh) Kurland. Raised and educated in Winthrop, a graduate of Winthrop High School and he continued his education at Suffolk University. He was employed as a Police Office for the Town of Winthrop and then went on to the Capital Police Force. In addition to his wife of 35 years he is also survived by his sons Kenneth Kurland, Michael Kurland, stepson Christopher DiPietro, brother Stephen Kurland and longtime friend Arnold Springer. Graveside service to be held July 7, 2017 at Pride of Lynn Cemetery 89 Lakeshore Rd. Lynn, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. US Army Vet.
