Salem, NH – Charlotte (Christian) Berndtson, 92 of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Berndtson.
Charlotte was born in Lawrence on May 29, 1925, the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Creeley) Christian. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. She worked as an assembler with Gillette Toiletries in Andover for 19 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. In her free time, she loved to travel, including taking vacations at the beach with her family. She also enjoyed watching parades, reading, knitting, and going to her grandchildren’s activities and events.
Charlotte will be deeply missed by her 4 children, Joyce Feole of Salem, NH, Bob Berndtson and his wife, Rosanne of Palm Coast, FL, Paul Berndtson and his wife, Lori of Casselberry, FL, and Brian Berndtson and his wife, Susan of Methuen; 6 grandchildren, Lisa and her husband, Christopher, James, Michael, Jennifer, Jaclyn, and Jade; and 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and Isabella. She is predeceased by a daughter, Karen Berndtson.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Charlotte’s life by gathering for her Mass of Christian Burial, which will take place at 11 AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Guest are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private.
