Obituary

Albert L. Boucher of Nashua, NH, 87, passed away on July 2, 2017 at home. He was born in Methuen, MA, December 24, 1929, the son of Laurent O. Boucher and Blanch A. (McKenzie) Boucher. He was a lifelong resident of Methuen until he retired to Nashua in 2001.

Albert was educated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Methuen and Marist Prep in Bedford, MA. He worked at James W. Daly, wholesale druggists, in Lawrence for 21 years. He later owned and operated Tower Hill Pharmacy in Lawrence and the Sweetheart Inn in Methuen with Gertrude, his wife of over 50 years. Albert was an active member and communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel/St Theresa’s Parish in Methuen, where he served as a lector, usher, parochial council member, P.T.A. president and as a member of many other committees. In Nashua, he was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Albert was an active member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, being Chief Ranger of Fr. Duhamel Court in Methuen for almost 50 years. In 1980, he was elected Massachusetts State Chief Ranger and served as State Secretary for many years. Albert was politically involved in Methuen, aspiring unsuccessfully for School Committee in 1962 and City Council 1972. He was elected Town Meeting member for many years. He was a former member of Methuen Knights of Columbus, Salem-Derry Elks, and a charter member of the Methuen Jaycees. Albert was a member of the Holy Family Hospital Men’s Guild for over 35 years.

Albert was pre-deceased by his first wife, Gertrude (Jacklin) Boucher, his son Robert G. Boucher and his daughter Carole Boucher; his brothers, Rene and Raymond Boucher and his sisters, Marcelle Letendre and Sr. Claire Boucher of the Good Shepard Sisters.

Albert is survived by his wife, Therese (Racine) Boucher of Nashua, they married in December of 2007. He is also survived by his sons, Stephen A. Boucher of North Andover, and Timothy J. Boucher of Methuen; and daughters, Ellen P. Pothier and her husband David of Windham, NH, Beth C. Dearman and her husband Scott, Michelle L. Boucher, both of Methuen, and his sister-in-law Madeline Boucher of Haverhill, MA. He is also survived by his stepson Paul Lequin and his wife Jenn, stepdaughters, Dianne, Jacqueline and her husband William Travis, Marie and her husband Jason Sylvia, and Paula Ayotte. Albert is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one step great-granddaughter and many cousin, nephews, and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 4 – 8 PM at The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 6, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA. Interment to follow at St Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St. Lawrence, MA.
