Belmont------Wendy Sue Parent 52, a beloved wife, mother and daughter, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her home.
Wendy was born April 13, 1965 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, daughter to Israel R. and Candace R. (Franzen) Willard. She was a graduate of Gilford High School in 1983 and continued her education at NHTI, graduating in 1985 with her associates in business administration. Wendy then began her 30+ year career with Lakes Region Community College. Wendy was also an active member of the State Employee's Association of New Hampshire, SEIU 84.
Wendy enjoyed playing in the women's softball league in Laconia, watching the birds and other critters at her many feeders at her home. Her favorite vacation spot was Loon Pond, in Gilmanton and she was a loyal Boston sports fan. Wendy also loved spending time with her nieces and nephew to whom she was affectionately called their "TT". Above all she adored spending time with her family and friends.
Wendy was a kind and loving person and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Wendy is survived by her parents, Israel and Candace Willard of Dunnellon, FL; her husband, of 32 years, Leon Parent of Belmont; five children, Krisiti Alkathiri and her husband, Joseph of Newbury, Zachary Parent of Concord, Jason Parent and his wife, Heather of Londonderry, Melissa Vigue and her husband, Jason of North Waterboro, ME and Matthew Parent of Nashua; ten grandchildren, Dominic, Gavin, Colin, Liam, Jared, Justin, James, Josiah, Madeline, Miriam and baby Alkathiri due September; a brother, Israel Willard and his wife, Linda of Candia; a sister, Ginger Rossetti and her husband, Dave of Moultonborough; four nieces, one nephew and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Wendy is also survived by her faithful furry companion, Leo. She is predeceased by her beloved Beagle, Billy.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00am at Gilmanton Community Church, 497 Province Road At the "Corners" on Rt. 107, Gilmanton, NH.
Burial will be private.
