Obituary

Ann (Lowry) Mahoney, age 87, of Westborough and former longtime Natick resident passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Francis E. Mahoney.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rudd and Judith (Ives) Lowry, Ann was a 1947 graduate of Natick High School. Ann and her late husband Francis were married in 1950. Francis died in January 1966. Ann stayed in Natick with her five children, moved to Raymond New Hampshire for a short time after she retired and then moved to Westboro in 1986.

Aside from her true passion, her family, Ann often made time to bowl at the Fairway and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke’s Church in Westborough were she volunteered to visit the local Nursing Homes. She was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and loved to watch them play at Fenway Park, where she celebrated her 80th birthday. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. After retiring from New England Telephone Company where she worked for 22 years, she worked part time at the Framingham General Cinemas. She took part time classes at Framingham State University where she studied Mythology. Ann had many pets over the years and especially loved her Golden Retriever, Barney.

Ann is survived by five children, Deborah Magnuson and her husband David of Paxton, Timothy Mahoney and his wife Jeanne Stone of Buzzards Bay, Thomas Mahoney of Wareham, Edward Mahoney of Westborough, and Miranda Jacob and her husband Matthew of Jefferson; her 12 grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Eric, Thomas, and Kristen Magnuson; Danielle and Shawn Mahoney; Shauna Mahoney; Serena, and Joseph Mahoney; Marissa, and Teresa Jacob; 7 great-grandchildren, Jada, Jasmine, Charlie, Olivia, Yeshua, Peter, and another great-grandchild to be born in July. She is also survived by her sister Martha Quiring of Frederick, MD.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Ann is pre-deceased by seven siblings Elizabeth Lee, and Samuel, James, John, George, Thomas and Semmes Lowry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, June 30 at 9:00 A.M., with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick Church, 44 E. Central Street, Natick, MA, at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M on Thursday at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 3 Park Street, Natick MA.
