Omer R. Morin, 85, of Berlin, passed away on Monday June 26, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin on March 15, 1932 the son of Leo A. and Olivette (Chavarie) Morin and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed by Red Wing Express, Adley Express, Yellow Freight, retiring from the Teamsters after 31 years. Omer had also been employed by Caron Building, Lauze Builders, Perras Ace Hardware in Gorham and White Mountain Lumber. He had also been a tractor trailer instructor for the NH Technical College. Omer was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and he had been Chairman of the Board of Water Commission and had also been Chairman of the Planning Board. He had been inducted into the NH Hockey Hall of Fame on March 25, 2006.
Family includes his wife Cecile (Huot) Morin of Berlin, NH; daughters Louise Valliere and husband Donald of Berlin, NH, Denise Morin of Berlin, NH and Rachelle Cyr and husband Moe of Walpole, NH; grandchildren Angela, Kathryn, Michael, Brian, Diana and Tony; great grandchildren Mykaela, Madelyne, Paul, Maddix, Baylee, Kaleb and Ryder; brother Richard Morin and wife Jeanette of Berlin and Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sisters Doris Dutil and Irene Gagnon and a brother Paul Morin.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 11 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service. Donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Parish, 151 Emery St., Berlin, NH, 03570.
