ANDERSON --Estella "Essie" L. Milburn, Anderson, passed away June 26, 2017 at Monticello House after an extended illness.
She was born on July 6, 1952, in Anderson , Indiana, the daughter of Lemuel and June (Kohn) Kimmons.
She graduated in 1970 from Anderson High School where she was the Head Indianette her senior year. She married Bruce A. Milburn on April 17, 1971. They have two children and two grandchildren. She retired from ARSEE Engineers in 2007 after 25 years of service.
Essie loved the beach and doing crafts. She was very creative and loved to read. She also enjoyed poetry, taking long walks and listening to country music. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was loved by all who knew her. She had a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bruce "Buz" Milburn; and their two children, Melissa "Missy" (Mike) Staton of Zionsville and Matthew "Matt" (Kelli) Milburn of Noblesville. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Avery Milburn and Jacob Staton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel L. and June L. Kimmons.
Essie's family would like to thank the staff at Monticello House for their loving care and support. They would also like to thank St. Vincent's Hospice for their care and dedication to Essie.
Cremation will take place. A private remembrance will be held by the family at a later date.
