Obituary

SKINNER, Erin A. was born Erin Ashley O'Brien on June 30th, 1988, in Boston, Massachusetts. Together with her sister Tiffany Mae, she created the precious family of Viking Gustafson and William R. Skinner, Jr. She passed away June 24, 2017 from a life-long history with Gardner's Syndrome.

Erin was an alumna of the Winthrop Elementary Schools, the
Clark School, Essex Agricultural and Technical High School, and
studied at North Shore Community College.

In spite of her medical challenges, Erin was a free spirit. As a
child she loved exploring the natural world, and could spend
endless hours at the water's edge with her dip net, and could lose
herself to the mysteries of the meadows. She had a special way
with animals, whether an elegant polo pony or a garden variety
backyard urban creature. She favored mammals. Erin was
always on the mission to rescue an abandoned life.

She also loved music, had sung with a band, and rocked out at
karaoke. Erin had a beautiful voice.

She will be forever missed by her family, her Care Partner
Matthew Foley, and an extended group of relatives, through
blood and adoption. Her special peer group was so important to
her quality of life, and they are thanked, each and every one.

On Friday, June 30th, 2017, her birthday, a remembrance will be
held at the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home at 210 Winthrop Street in Winthrop, Mass. At 4 p.m. there will be an opportunity for young people to bring photos with Erin for a picture board. Visiting hours will be held between 4 and 8 p.m., with a eulogy at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to the Animal Rescue
League of Boston at 10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA 02116.
