Obituary

Whitman – Ronald F. "Ron" Stachowski, 73, of Whitman, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 24, surrounded by loved ones. Ron had fought a courageous battle with Stage IV Kidney Cancer, and fought with grace and dignity, never complaining, and always maintaining his kind and caring personality.

Born and raised in Dorchester he was the son of the late Frank and Irene Stachowski.

Ron had attended Boston State College and had proudly served in the US Navy. Prior to his retirement Ron had worked for over 40 years with the Conrail and Amtrak Police.

He loved all sports especially football and bowling. He had enjoyed gardening, music and playing the lottery, but his greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his loving wife of forty-seven years Patricia A. (Clark) Stachowski, his daughter Jennifer Howard and her family; husband Gregg and children Cole and Brynn all of Walpole, his son Gregory Stachowski and family; Noreen, Kayla and “Snoopy” all of Whitman, his brothers; Richard of Dorchester and Robert and his wife Kathy of Quincy and his sister Roselyn Clark and her husband Ricky of Whitman. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Words cannot express the deep appreciation Ron’s family has for the compassionate care extended to Ron by the nurses and staff of Emerson 6 at South Shore Hospital.

His funeral service will be held Friday June 30 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hour will be held Thursday June 29 from 3:30-7:30 PM.
