Obituary

A.D. “Anthony” Busbin, 74, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Ocilla, with the Rev. Luther Kirby and the Rev. Huey Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Frank Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Busbin was born May 25, 1943, in Tifton, Georgia, to Ruth Hester Busbin and the late Franklin Busbin. He was a graduate of Irwin County High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He served as director of Emergency Medical Services in Clinch County and was a certified electrician. He retired from Brockway in Homerville as the paint room supervisor. Mr. Busbin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, working with his cows and goats on the farm, as well as fishing and working on his pond. He loved spending time with his grandchildren as well. He was an active member and deacon of Pine Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Brenda Clark Busbin of Ocilla; his son, Lee Busbin of Ocilla; step-daughters: Kim Busbin of Ocilla, and Wendy Pate and Kasey Woods, both of Tifton; grandchildren: Matt Busbin, Reagan & Kyndal Pate, and Allison & Ashlee Woods; his mother, Ruth Busbin of Waterloo; and a brother, Frederick Busbin of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his father.
