LIMERICK--Peter Donald Pawlowski 53, passed away on June 23, 2017 unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a massive heart attack.
He was born in L’Anse, Michigan, son of Donna Medema Niemi. Pete attended Northern Michigan University and studied art. He was married to JoAnn Arsenault Pawlowski for 21 years. Pete worked very hard to become a Certified Maine Assessor and worked for the town of Gorham for the past 5 years. Most recently, he was thrilled to start a challenging job as a tax assessor for Municipal Resources for the towns of Berwick, Ogunquit, and Kittery. He was also doing some work for the town of Cornish. Pete loved to cook, watch football, reading, go ice fishing, regular fishing, and hunting. On Sundays he played games with his friends. He recently had a great time visiting his son Eric and 3 year-old granddaughter Megan in Michigan. He took his son Sam squid fishing this past Father’s Day. Pete was a loving grandfather, father, and husband, always sought out a challenge in life, and will be especially missed for his wit and humor. Pete is survived by his wife JoAnn Arsenault Pawlowski of Limerick; his children Eric Ethington of Haslett Michigan and Sam Pawlowski of Limerick; his mother Donna Medema Niemi and spouse Wayne Niemi of Michigan; his granddaughter Megan Ethington of Haslett Michigan; his siblings Jill Riley and spouse Corey Riley of Texas; David Pawlowski and his spouse Nancy of Michigan; Kris Pawlowski of Michigan. He also has many beloved nieces and nephews and his best friend Michael Dunham.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 2, from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
