Obituary


Margaret C. (Mahan) Caldararo 96, of Franklin, died peacefully, Friday June 23, 2017 at the Blaire House of Milford, following an illness. She was the wife of the late James A. Caldararo, who died in 1971.

Born in Medway, October 6, 1920 a daughter of James E. and Vera Mae (Carr) Mahan, she was a former resident of Medway before settling in Franklin.

She was raised and educated in Medway and was a 1938 graduate of Medway High School. While attending high school Margaret was an outstanding basketball player. For many years, she worked in the cafeteria department for the Town of Franklin public schools.

Margaret was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and was always willing to help someone. She treasured family gatherings, sewing, cooking, and bowling and was a longtime member of the Tuesday night bowling leagues at the former Ficco’s Bowladrome.

She is survived by her children, James F. Calderaro and his partner of Los Angeles, California, Nancy A. Molloy of Franklin, Daniel P. Caldararo and his wife Bernadette of Franklin and Paul M. Caldararo and his former wife Deborah both of Franklin. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lisa, Kevin, & Keith Molloy, Debra Munger, Michael Doran and Michael Caldararo, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

She was the mother of the late Janet L. Doran, grandmother of the late Ryan P. Caldararo and sister of the late Francis “Red” Mahan, Theresa Mahan, Ann Zariczny, Joseph E. Mahan, Hugh Vincent Mahan, James “Buddy” Mahan and Mary E. Mahan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday June 28th at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary Parish, 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.

Interment will be held privately at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
