Marie T. (Gulla) Luongo of Medford died on Tuesday, June 20. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Gregorio and Antonetta (Froio) Gulla, and her step-father Luigi Minici.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Massimino (Sonny) Luongo, and the devoted mother of Richard Luongo and his wife Lisa of Northboro, Karen Bove and her husband Peter of Medford, and Kenneth Luongo of Charlestown. She was the loving grandmother of Danielle Luongo and her fiancé Chris Smith of Merrimac, NH, Maria and Paul Luongo of Northboro, Michael Bove and his wife Samantha DiVito of Tewksbury, Jennifer and Kristina Bove of Medford, and Michelle and Kenneth Luongo of Haverhill. Marie was the loving great grandmother of Giavanna and Dante Fico, and sister of the late Theresa Guerra, Grace Marciello, Jenny Noto, Ralph Gulla, Helen Mignosa, Tony Gulla, Rose Gulla, and Josephine Marshal. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, June 26 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours Sunday, June 25, from 4 through 7 PM.
