He passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, MN. WW II Veteran of the US Navy, serving in the South Pacific. Preceded in death by parents Elmer & Nelda; 1st born son Richard; & unborn grandson Thomas. Survived by wife of 68 years, Janet (Shursen); son David (Barbara); daughters Kathy & Barbara (Mark) Kortus; grandchildren Heather, Amy, Michael, Matthew, Jenny; 8 great grandchildren; brother Glen; & special friend of the family, Marylou Sturm. Memorial Service Saturday (7/1) 11:00 AM at the Salvation Army Lakewood Corp, 2080 Woodlyn Ave N, Maplewood, with visitation one hour prior to the service & luncheon to follow at the church. Private interment at a later date. Memorials preferred.
