Obituary

Joanne K. Van Scoten, 82, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at All American Assisted Living of Londonderry, NH, surrounded by her family. Joanne was born April 25, 1935 in Melrose, MA, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lois (Collins) Knight. She was raised and educated in Stoneham, MA. prior to relocating to New Hampshire. Joanne lived in Manchester for 15 years before she and her family moved to Hooksett, NH where she resided for 45 years.

Joanne began her working life with New England Telephone in Boston, MA and then transferred to Manchester, when she moved north. She later worked for over 25 years as a sales clerk with Sears Roebuck and Co. Joanne loved playing the piano for her church and her family, she had a heart for animals and enjoyed crafts of all kinds, she was an excellent seamstress and took delight in knitting. One of her most passionate hobbies was ceramics; which included a collection of "Precious Moment" figurines. Most memorable though, were the personal handmade ceramic creations that were always gifted to friends and family.

Members of the family include her husband of 62 years, Paul R. Van Scoten, Jr., her son Paul R. Van Scoten, III, her daughters, Pamela Martel and Kerry DeVore, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a brother, Dr. Carl Knight.

After cremation, memorial calling hours were held Friday, June 23 from 4 to 6 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Celebration of her life followed at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
