Obituary

Antonio Nasta, a longtime Medford resident, and formerly of Candida, Avellino, Italy, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 20th. He was 90.

Born in Candida, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Maria (Petrillo) Nasta.

After Antonio and his wife Maria married in 1953, they came to the United States to start their family. They first arrived in Somerville, but later settled in Medford, where they have been for many years.

A diligent man, Antonio was a bricklayer and worked for the Romano & Son Construction company for thirty years, retiring in 1991. He worked hard for his family and made sure they had everything they ever needed. When he wasn’t working, he loved to be with his family. His wife, children and grandchildren were the most important thing in his life. Antonio also enjoyed walking. He would walk all over Medford and did all his errands by foot. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to Italy. They would often visit every two years for their summer holiday.

Antonio was the beloved husband of Maria (Picardo) Nasta, with whom he shared sixty-four loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Domenic Nasta and his wife Ivana of North Reading, Joseph Nasta and his wife Donna of Andover, Sergio Nasta and his wife Lisa of North Reading. Antonio was the loving grandfather of Anthony Nasta of Ashland, Amanda Nasta of North Andover, Joseph and Maria Nasta, both of Andover, Christopher and Anthony Nasta, both of North Reading. He was the loving great grandfather of Aria Nasta of Andover and the dear brother-in-law of Carolina Danieli. Antonio is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Teresa Zeolla, Sr. Concetta Nasta and Mariapia Reppucci.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Saturday, June 24th at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 23rd from 4 through 8PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
