Rocco S. Carrabes, age 82 of Scituate passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family June 19th after a brief illness at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mattapan, graduated from Hyde Park High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a 61 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #4 in Boston. He was also a 45 year member of the Order of Sons of Italy in America, Braintree Lodge No. 760 and a member of the Board of Directors of the Scituate Council on Aging. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and granddogs, cooking, gardening, and traveling. Beloved husband of Margaret T. (Devonshire). Father of Karen M. Carrabes of Norwell and Joseph M. Carrabes and his wife Susan of Cohasset. Grandfather of Sydney and Maggie Adedamola of Norwell, and Paige, Tommy and Chris Carrabes of Cohasset. Brother of Mary Consentino of Stoughton. Funeral mass at St. Elizabeth's Church, Milton Monday morning at 10:00. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Sunday 4-8 pm. Burial Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
