Obituary

Deborah “Debbi” Lynn McLlarky-Vaughan, 31, of Salem, NH, was called home to the Lord on June 16, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA after fighting a long and courageous battle.

Although a simple paragraph cannot sum up the triumphs and tribulations of a person’s life, Debbi's pride can be described in one word: family. She was a proud mother of two sons, Joseph and Julian Garvin, and was the cherished wife of her devoted husband, Andrew Vaughan. The two exchanged vows in a simple ceremony in August 2014 and were inseparable ever since.

Debbi was born on a beautiful winter day in December of 1985 to her hardworking parents, Bruce and Donna (Marion) McLlarky of Derry, NH. She was raised in Derry, NH, where she was a member of the Pinkerton Academy Class of 2003. A gifted student in high school, Debbi was a member of the Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA) and then dabbled in many different career paths following graduation.

Always a very generous and selfless person, friends will affirm that Debbi was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back and advocate for those who were less fortunate. Debbi found peace and serenity working with animals, and volunteered countless hours at the Manchester Animal Shelter. In her late 20s, she found a calling back to God and became a member of the Central Congregational Church of Derry, where her beautiful voice could be heard singing in the choir. Debbi touched many lives in many different circles and she will be fondly remembered, loved, and missed by those who loved her.

Debbi is survived by her husband, Andrew Vaughan, her sons Joseph and Julian Garvin, her parents; Bruce and Donna (Marion) McLlarky and her Grand Mother Carol Marion of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by her three brothers; Elwood McLlarky of Conway, NH, Jonathan McLlarky and his longtime companion, Tricia Cummings of Raymond, NH and Jake McLlarky and his wife, Nicole of Pittsfield, NH. Debbi is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol McLlarky in 2014.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4 - 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10 AM at the Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent Street in Derry. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Road in Derry.
