Obituary

Gilford----Anthony "Tony" Lancia, 87, Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at The Retreat at Golden View Healthcare Center, Meredith with his loving family and friends by his side.

Anthony was born on February 3 1930 in Cranston, Rhode Island, son to the late Bernardino and Annuziata (Gelfusa) Lancia. He lived in Greenville, Rhode Island for many years where he and his wife raised their family. Anthony founded Ocean State Hearing Aid Center in 1975 and was a hearing aid specialist for 42 years. He retired to Gilford, NH in June of 1996. He Proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

As an avid artist, Anthony attended the Rhode Island School of Design and was a member of the lakes Region Art Association and the Artist Loft. He exhibited many of his oil paintings in local art shows over the years and enjoyed spending time in his Running Brook art studio. Anthony was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather and friend to many, Anthony was kindness personified.
Anthony will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carmel (Noviello) Lancia of Gilford; his children, Donna M. (Lanica) Brummette and her husband, Jeffrey of London, England, Anthony M. Lancia and his wife, Kelley of Clinton, CT, Richard J. Lancia and his wife, Leslie of Glosceter, RI, and Michael S. Lancia of Wakefield, RI; eight grandchildren, Richard, Sara, William , Anthony, Nicholas, Marc Hannah and Michael; a brother, Thomas Lancia of Cranston, RI and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his siblings, Joseph, Angie, Ollie, Frank, Johnnie, Mario, Mary, Benny, Alfred and Rocco.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:30am at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday June 23, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Andre-Bessette Parish -Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.

A private burial with military honors will be held in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
