Mrs. Florence “Flo” (Ventura) Kable, of Taunton, entered into rest Sunday, June 18 in Taunton Nursing Home following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of John R. “Bob” Kable, Jr. She was born 94 years ago in Cambridge, the daughter of the late of John and Mary (Oliver) Ventura. She was educated in Raynham, was a 1940 graduate of Taunton High School, and had been a Taunton resident since the 1970’s. Florence was a member of the Winthrop Street Baptist Church, where she served as Deaconess, was very active in church affairs, and was very close to her church family.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 2 sons: John “Jackie” McDermott of Danvers, and Michael McDermott and his wife, Terri of Taunton; 1 daughter: Sheila Goulart of Taunton; 1 sister: Janet Fournier of Marstons Mills; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Florence was also the sister of the late John, Joseph, William, Able and Frank Ventura, Georgina Givens, Mary Gosselin, Lorraine Ventura, and Angelina Gosselin
A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, E. Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the Service, Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
