Evans, GA – Danna R. Gray Mathews, 84, loving wife of the late Carl E. Mathews, entered into rest on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. with Rev. Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Danna was born in Athens, GA to the late Warren Daniel Gray and Marjorie Lovern Gray, but made the Augusta area her home for many years. Her family was very important to her and they were the focus of her life. Danna worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses.
Survivors include three daughters; Jender M. Gwaltney (Bill) of Cumming, GA, Cindy M. Canaday (Terry) of Evans, GA, Carla Mathews of Evans, GA, two sisters; Gloria Beth G. Norris (Tillman) of Grayson, GA, Patsy Gray of Eatonton, GA, four grandchildren; Dan Gwaltney (Jessica) of Sanford, NC, Matt Gwaltney of Cumming, GA, Brandon Canaday of Evans, GA, and Austin Canaday of Evans, GA.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers that assisted Danna during this time.
