Geraldine Henderson, 61 of New Bedford, died Monday, June 12, 2017, unexpectedly at home.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph Saxon and the late Marion E. Henderson. She was born in Acushnet and lived in New Bedford all her life. She attended Bethel AME Church in her youth and attended New Bedford Public Schools, graduating from New Bedford High School in 1975.
Survivors include her lifetime companion Mark Harris (Tex), her children Denise Henderson of Virginia and Glenn Henderson of New Bedford, two grandchildren, SaNyia and Christopher, four sisters Florence Henderson of Salem, MA, Regina Jenkins and Lisa Henderson of Virginia, and Deborah Henderson of New Bedford, four brothers, Stephen Henderson of San Diego, CA., Hanif Abdul-Hakeem (Ronald) of Washington, D.C., Richard Henderson of Buzzards Bay, and Jason Affonso of Rhode Island, and her beloved aunt Joan Henderson Beaubian and uncle Kenneth Langston.
Geraldine will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-niece and nephews along with many dear friends.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 19, 2017 at 1 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street New Bedford.
