Obituary

Kenneth Walter Clark, 93, of Derry, NH, formally of Norwood, MA, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on March 21, 1924, a son of the late Walter and Beatrice (Blizzard) Clark. He had been a resident of Derry for the past seven years, living with his son, Phil. Mr. Clark worked for the Jerguson Valve Company during WWII making valves for machinery used in the war effort. He later worked for Polaroid Corporation for 30 years, first as a model maker and then advancing to become the Engineering Technical Manager of the model shops.

As a youngster he enjoyed playing baseball, football, hockey and other games with his brother Stanley. He also liked playing the harmonica and singing in the church choir. As an adult, he enjoyed playing golf and going deep sea fishing with his friends from work as well as skeet shooting with his son. He and his wife, Loretta, often went out to dine, giving her relief from the cooking and to go out and just relax. He was an avid reader and in his later years, he spent his time either reading or watching his favorite TV shows and sports, especially football and golf tournaments.

He is survived by one son, Philip S. Clark of Derry, three grandchildren, Kristen, Kenny and Erik, four great grandchildren, Samantha, Jesse, Lacy and Jace, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Loretta (LeClair) Clark of 54 years, his daughter, Karen, brother, Stanley and a great grandson, Nicholas.

Calling hours were held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Salvation Army, one of his favorite charities of the many that he donated to.
