Constance DeMaris Todd, 93 long time resident of Ojai (65 years), passed away at her home on June 9 2017. Connie was born in Portland Oregon on September 3 1923 to Mildred and William Russell Misener Jr. She had a brother Bill Misener and sister- in-law Beth Misener also of long beach. Connie grew up in Long Beach where she met her future husband, Jack Todd, in Junior high school. They grew up together and married after graduating from Poly High school. Jack joined the Navy four months after they were married. He served in the Navy on P.T. Boat 245 in tell the end of WW11. Connie went on to Long Beach School of Business and then worked for the Telephone Company during the war. When Jack returned from the war, they rented an apartment in Belmont Shore, two blocks from the beach. Many of their friends lived in that neighborhood and there where many on going beach parties. Connie and Jack bought their first home in Los Altos, Long Beach and started their family. They eventually moved to Ojai where Jack worked for California Production Service. Soon Connie and Jack opened up their own family business in Santa Barbara with their son Glenn Todd. Connie was the bookkeeper /accountant for many years. Connie and Jack enjoyed boating and went on many vacations through the years with their friends and family. With Lake Powell being one of their many favorite destinations. Connie enjoyed a full happy life and their 50th wedding anniversary celebrated at the Soul Park Golf Course was one of the highlights in 1992. At least at 100 friends and family came to help them celebrate. Connie enjoyed golfing, boating, gardening, picnics, family celebrations, Easter egg hunts in the back lot and attending the Ventura Fair to watch her grand kids and great grand kids participate in horse shows, 4H Events and the 4th of July parades. Her home was always filled with love, with family photographs set through out the house. Connie lost her husband Jack in 1995 and her son Glenn in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Charwyn Todd Byrd ( Steve Duffy), Daughter in law Sue Todd, Grandsons Brad and Steven Todd (wife Stacy),Granddaughter Chelsea Adams and great grand children Kaleb,Azlyn,Kain,Shaney and Shad, nephew William 1V and (wife Nancy ) nephews Jeff and Billy, cousins Connie Orton and Norma Erickson and their families and nieces Lynn and Lee. To all her family, friends and neighbors- thanks for many years of loving memories. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 25 2017 at Soule Park Golf Course at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Help of Ojai.
