Obituary

Judith Mary (Anastasi) Young, age 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth Massachusetts after a long illness. Judy is survived by her husband, Robert E. Young, Sr. who was her true love and soulmate. She is the daughter of the late Anthony Walter and Martha Mary Anastasi of Holiday, Florida and her sister, Donna Jean and her husband Raymond Gagnon of Weymouth, MA. Judy and Bob had three children, Robert E. Young, Jr (deceased) and his wife Suzanne, Tracyann Young MacKay and her husband James, and Stephen Christoper Young and his wife Heidi. Nine Grandchildren, Robert III, Christopher Charles, Brian James, Kevin James, Kerryann, Shannon Ashley, Ian Christopher, Lindsay Rose and Abigail Christina as well as two great grand-children, and many nieces and Nephews. Judy was born in Boston MA on Feburary 2, 1945 and grew up in Weymouth MA and summered in Humarock, Scituate MA. A graduate of Weymouth High School class of 1962. Judy and Bob met in high school and shortly after Bob joined the Air Force, became a Sergeant and was a jet fighter mechanic. They married on June 19, 1965 and after briefly living in New Jersey and Connecticut made their roots in Rockland and then moved to Weymouth, MA. At the time of their retirement they moved to Oak Point, Middleboro, MA. Judy was an active member of the Weymouth Garden Club where she made many friends and helped beautify the gardens of Weymouth. Judy also was a member of the Red Hat Society. Bob and Judy loved spending time with their family and friends. They enjoyed summers on their boat, cookouts in their Weymouth home, trips to Florida, and long rides on their Harley Davidson motorcycle. But most of all they enjoyed being together. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brigham and Woman's Pain Center, Chestnut Hill, MA, or the American Cancer Society. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, June 15 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 16 at Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30PM
