Obituary

Mr. George E. Dufresne, Jr., of Assonet, entered into rest Sunday, June 11, at Morton Hospital following a year-long illness. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Taylor)Taylor-Dufresne. He was born 49 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late George E. Dufresne, Sr. and the late Mary (Barros) Goulart. He was educated in Taunton and received his Nursing Certificate from the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River. George was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River for 7 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of St. Bernard’s Church in Assonet. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and the outdoors. He was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Assonet.

In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: George E. Dufresne III of Assonet; 2 sisters: Anne Rounds of Lakeville, and Laura Reynolds of Taunton; 2 grandchildren: Nate and Dylan Dufresne; his dog, Tucker, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
George was also the brother of the late Michael Dufresne of Taunton.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Thursday, June 15 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Church, Assonet, at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
