Elizabeth M.( Burba) Nuneman, 89 , of Louisville passed away peacefully on June 11,2017 at Essex Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 18, 1927 to the late Arvel and Ada (Tinnell) Burba. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Peter J. Nuneman, sister, Lois Johnson and brothers Doug and Ralph Burba.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, daughters, Linda Fenster (Dennis) of Richardson, Texas, Joan Gumm (Ronnie),Karen Harris (Bill) and son Garry Nuneman (Duane); eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; sisters Della McIntosh and Brenda Maynard; brothers Ronald “Jim” (Donna) and Kenneth Burba.
Liz was a Christian and a member of Auburndale Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her endless love and devotion to Pete, her selfless love to her children, her soft-hearted love for animals, her passion for keeping a meticulous yard filled with beautiful flowers and, to those passing by , being seen with a “broom in her hands”.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 A.M. at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway with entombment in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Liz would request memorial gifts be made to the Humane Society of Kentucky, Animal Care Society or Alzheimer Association.
