Maria Margarida (Soares) Resendes, age 68, of Fall River passed away on Monday June 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in São Roque São Miguel Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Salvador and Lydia (Delgado) Soares and the beloved wife of José Domingos Resendes. Maria was a CNA at Catholic Memorial Home, enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Celia Brillo (husband Russell), Julio Resendes (wife Carla), and Jocelyn Resendes, siblings; Januario Soares, Connie Ribeiro, Susanna Dias, Natalia Pereira, and José Francisco Soares, grandchildren; Kaela, Sierra, Isaiah, Rylee, Elijah, and Khloe and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday from 4-8 P.M.
