New Bedford – Margarida G. (Pacheco) DeMedeiros, age 93 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Fabio B. DeMedeiros and was the daughter of the late Rosaria G. (Froes) and Antonio G. Pacheco.
She was born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores and moved to New Bedford in May of 1966 and was employed at Cornell Dubilier until her retirement. Margarida loved spending time with her family, gardening and attending church.
She is survived by her children; Maria Angelina DeCamara and her husband Manuel C., Norberto F. DeMedeiros and his wife Maria C.; grandchildren; Rui Camara, Margarida Camara, Antonio M. DeMedeiros, Jason DeMedeiros, Wendy Raposo; a sister; Maria Madeira; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Fabio F. DeMedeiros, Jr., Antonio Medeiros and Jose Medeiros.
Her visiting hours will be held Wednesday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M.
