New Bedford – Cecilia B. (Correia) Brito, age 86 of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Pereira DaSilva and the daughter of the late Cecilia Bento and Antonio Correia.
Cecilia was born in the Azores, Portugal. She was a devoted home maker to her family.
She is survived by her son, Luiz Silva and his wife, Sandra of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Scott Silva and Shana Silva of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Custodia Bento and Maria Martins; a brother, Floriano; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Tuesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at Mt. Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
