Obituary

Ann Flavia Aloi, age 91, of Braintree, formerly of Brockton, passed away June 4th. She died very peacefully after long and lovely goodbyes with her family who surrounded her. Born and raised in Brockton, she graduated from Brockton High School and worked for many years as the manager of the Urbano Leather Company, her family business. Later in life, Ann worked until the age of 75 in the accounting department of Crescent Credit Union in Brockton. Known for her generous spirit, her beautiful eyes, and her brilliant smile, she loved music, dancing, sewing, cooking for her family, and playing poker with her dearest friends – a group of women who met every week for 50 years. Always the first to offer help and comfort, she cared lovingly for her children and grandchildren, teaching them by example that giving, not acquiring, was the road to a full life. Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Aloi, mother of Linda C. Dobbyn and her husband John of Braintree and Marilyn Aloi Rivkin and her husband David of New York, and sister of the late Jack Urbano, Ann is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home at 455 Washington St. in Canton on Thursday morning at 10:30a.m. Visiting hours prior to the service on Thursday morning are from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton, immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alzheimer’s Association
