Obituary

David H. Skill age 70 of Canton passed away June 4th surrounded by his loving family at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. Born in Boston, he was raised in Braintree and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and the College of the Holy Cross Class of 1968. He worked as the Morning Drive Newscaster for WATD Radio 95.9 FM in Marshfield for over 30 years. Over the years he did several specialty shows on the Beatles, 60’s music and Motown. He also created features on subjects as eclectic as the Boston Harbor Islands and lighthouses to the beginnings of the Boston subway. He was also the Co-host of Main Street on Canton Cable 8 for many years. In December of 2016 he was presented with a commendation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives in recognition of 30 years of delivering the South Shore news through WATD. Dave volunteered at the Friendship Home in Norwell, the Canton Public Library and for the Boston Harbor Islands as a Lighthouse Tour Guide. He was active in his church serving as a lector at St. John the Evangelist Church for 30 years. Beloved husband of Carol A. (Ethier). Father of Christi Skill and her husband Erik Quenzel of Canton. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Friday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the David H.
