Fall River – Ilda Do Carmo Oliveira, age 75 of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Antero Oliveira and was the daughter of the late Maria Cecília and Manuel Inácio d’Oliveira.
She was born in St. Roque, St. Michael, Azores and she lived there most of her life as a Home Maker until her move to this country two years ago.
Ilda was a great mother, who raised her four children all on her own after being widowed at a very young age. Although she struggled very hard over the years, she always made sure her children had everything they could ever need or want. Her children love her, will miss her deeply and will forever keep her memory alive in their hearts.
She is survived by her four children; Candida Almeida and her husband, Leonel of New Bedford, Manuel Antonio Oliveira and his wife, Conceicao of St. Michael, Azores, Graca Medeiros and her husband, Antonio Medeiros of St. Michael, Azores, and Zelia Pimentel and her husband Ernesto of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren; Brittny, Nicholas, Tiago, Beatriz, Miguel, Diogo, and Noah; as well as many living brothers and sisters.
Her visiting hours will be held Monday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
