Ellen M. "Nellie" Lounsberry, a 42 year resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following an extended illness. She was 68 years old.
Nellie was born in Boston on January 11, 1949, a daughter of the late Clifford Lounsberry and Margaret E. (Canty) Lounsberry. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1967. Nellie worked for many years for the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in their maintenance department. She enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time.
Nellie is the devoted mother of Kelly McGrath and the late Lynne Lounsberry. She is the loving Nana to Megan, Amber and Alex. She is the beloved sister of Robert Kane, Patricia Kane, Margie Kelsey, John Lounsberry, Lois Poste, Marie Centola and the late Kenneth Lounsberry, James Lounsberry and Shirley Doody. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. She is the dear friend of Liz Riviera and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nellie's visiting hours on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. with her Funeral Service at 7:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial is private.
