Obituary

Gerard M. O’Brien age 87 of Canton, formerly of Westwood passed away May 30th. Born in West Roxbury, he was raised in Mission Hill and graduated from Mission High School, Northeastern University and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Government for the Department of Transportation for several years and later started his own Private Consulting Firm Safe-T Inc. He has lived in Canton for over 20 years and previously lived in Westwood for many years. Beloved husband of Dawn E. (Eckberg). Father of Linda M. Furrier and her husband Gerald of Tolland, CT, Lauren L. O’Brien and her husband Steve Poncelet of Truckee, CA, Michele S. O’Brien and her husband Michael Flaherty of Mansfield, Gerard M. O’Brien of Canton, Christian R. O’Brien and his wife Mary of Wilton, CT and Daren M. O’Brien of Seattle. Brother of Paul O’Brien of Norwood and the late John “Buddy” O’Brien, Dorothy Cachelin and Ruth McNeil. Also survived by 13 grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Sunday 3-7 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Monday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
